Simon Keychain Socket Holders – Stop Losing Sockets!

Lots of people misplace their sockets. Maybe that’s because you don’t have a secure go-to place to keep them while on the move?

Over at Amazon, Simon Tools – which looks to be based in Norway from their seller’s page – has just the thing to help you keep your sockets close at hand.

Shown here are the Simon Tools 3/8″ socket holders, which come in a 3-pack with a carabiner clip.

They also have 1/2″ socket holders.

From the looks of it, these are basically quick-detach square drive anvils in keychain format, rather than being built into a ratchet head.

It’s pretty clever, and seems more convenient than using a socket adapter with the many 1/4″ hex shank holder keychains now on the market.

The price might seem a little high, but so is the cost for the 10mm sockets you’re always losing. (Some of you might be thinking “I’ve never lost a 10mm socket.” Say that aloud and see what happens.)

As a reminder, you don’t need to keep these on the carabiner. You can source a larger clip and combine sets for more socket holders or even a mix of bit and socket holders, or place individual holders where you need them.

Price: $20

Amazon has other styles, although I find the Simon Tools holders to be more appealing.

Interesting where is the 1/4 drive ones? I would most likely get 1/4 and 3/8 if I was still playing in the hangar. Even around the garage at home that would do.

Example sparker of a exploder. One 3/8 for the spark plug socket and it’s lock. 2 1/4 socked for the 8nn and 10mm sockets for the intake manifold and the fuel rail and the clamps and ?

Instead of laying on the fender rail or ? You could keep them clipped on. Probably more useful for working on say a full size truck where you need a stool too.

    Careful of the paint though

My thought too – about the lack of a 1/4inch version. Nonetheless, I bought a batch back on June 8th – and they are now socked away for stocking stuffers. BTW the company was listed as Simon Creations AS – but the packages said: “made in China”. Quality looked OK – and the 20% off coupon (still in effect) put the cost at $15.99 each

It’s one of those things that seems obvious after you see it. I might use this to add a few sockets to my small tool bag that weren’t included in the kits I carry.

I was just using a magnetic tray in my driveway, and still managed to lose a 7mm socket.

I’m surprised nobody’s made a locking version yet.

I’m not enthused with the socket holders. I like the 1/4” adapter sets though. Sockets have holes in them, unlimited ways to carry them(small chains , cables ect). Guess you need three 1/4” socket adapters to carry 1/4”. These socket adapters are nice, just seems a high cost for what they do.
