Simple Green Crystal is fragrance-free version of the popular green sassafras-scented non-toxic cleaner and degreaser. The concentrated cleaner is non-toxic, non-caustic, non-flammable, and is even biodegradable. There’s no added color either.
It’s still a mild irritant and should NOT be swallowed, but I consider Simple Green’s Crystal formula to be about as safe as industrial cleaners can be.
I just ordered another 24-ounce spray bottle from Amazon for about $10. Industrial suppliers carry it for as low as about $7 per bottle. I ordered it from Amazon because with my Prime membership I don’t have to pay extra for shipping.
The only thing that bugs me about Simple Green is how the spray bottles contain concentrated cleaner which should still be diluted for use. Even 1:1 dilution is recommended for heavy grease and stubborn soils. Although their quick mix guide says that Simple Green can be used full-strength without causing any harm, that doesn’t seem to be their general recommendation.
I also ordered Simple Green wipes, which seem to be similar to the Lysol wipes we use to clean and disinfect bathroom and kitchen areas. The wipes are a bit pricier than the spray, but seem to be worth the saved time and hassle for certain cleaning or degreasing tasks.
Do you like Simple Green Crystal as much as I do, or have you used something better?
