One Project Closer recently put up a few table saw safety tips that are definitely worth reviewing. Most of these tips are common sense, but then again many woodworking accidents are avoidable.

There’s also a rather comprehensive list of safety tips over at Woodcraft that covers everything from proper attire to saw and accessory setup and use.

I’ll add a tip in regards to proper attire that I didn’t see in the list. Most people know to not wear ties or dangling jewelry because they might get caught in the blade. But things that people usually don’t think about are hoodies, specifically hoodies with hoodie strings. I’ve found myself wearing one on a cold day and just missed getting the loose end of a hoodie string wrapped around the blade when I was hovering over the work surface. Also, people with long hair need to wear hats to keep there hair in check.
