Woodpeckers Holiday Countdown event started today. For 10 days until December 12th, 2018, they will reveal a single retired One Time Tool each day. Once the tool is revealed, you’ll have an opportunity to purchase it until their supplies run out. They only have a limited number of these One Time Tools, so if you miss them this time you’ll have to hope they have a second run of the tool.
Woodpeckers is only allowing orders through their website and since these are One Time Tools, there will be no back orders.

Update: It looks like they reveal the new tool each day at 10am EST.
Today they revealed their edge tool sharpening guide as the first of 10 tools.
This tool is a “go, no go” gauge when you are sharpening chisels and plane irons. The gauge is made from 3/32″ thick 17-4 stainless steel. The interior angle is 90° with a tolerance of .0085° for making sure your chisel or iron is perfectly square before sharpening.
Around the exterior are 9 angles for checking the bevel angle of a sharpened chisel or iron. The first 8 angles range from 15° to 50° in 5° increments with the ninth being 54°.

I have been very happy with my set of Precision Dogs parallel guides. They exceeded my expectations even in wonky circumstances, the manual is good, the video helpful, and I found the service very responsive when I had questions. They look a lot like the Seneca (both use the Incra track) and I remember considering both, but I apologize I cannot remember what led me to choose one over the other, maybe just price.
Not that you asked, but relevant to Fred’s second link, I choose the TSO guide Rail Square, in part to support what I saw as an innovative (and innovating) company. Their new models are nice and beefy and have worked great for me (but I have not tried others). There are some strong opinions about the Insta-RailSquare product, if you enjoy an online discussion as much as the tools themselves.

I had bought the Woodpeckers Track Square jig – probably before the TSO was available. I find that the Woodpecker variant is a bit finicky to set and doesn’t always hold its position after many repeated cuts.
Not so bad that I’d toss it out and start over – but one of those cases that waiting for the TSO guide – would probably have been better
