I bought this WorkPro mini adjustable pliers recently, and it was completely unnecessary. But then again, so was my Knipex Cobra XS pliers, and I’ve had zero regrets with that one.
The premise is that it’s compact and can fit in tight spaces.
But you know what? I just like small adjustable pliers.

Mini pliers tend to be easy to carry, and they don’t take up a lot of space in smaller tool kits.
There’s a novelty to the pliers, given their minuscule 4″ size, but they’re also practical. That’s not something I can say – the practical part – about all of the smaller tools I’ve bought over the years.
I found the quality to be quite good, and that surprised me a bit. I was planning on giving the pliers away after testing it for a bit, but now I’m not so sure.
WorkPro can be a “hit or miss” type of tool brand. I have more testing to do with mine, but so far I’m thinking these are a hit.
The price is $16.01, down from $16.99. It was a little less expensive for Prime Day and there’s a chance it’ll drop another dollar or so for Black Friday. Is it worth waiting for a better deal, or even buying at all? I’ll leave that to you. I’m happy with mine.

Like for the triple slip joint in the 8″ long nose, the price diff between Snap On and Icon versions keeps me in the Icon end.
The price diff between Knipex and “equivalents” keeps me in Knipex.

Tools that you can slip in a pocket easily are great for those one/two tool jobs.
All my big Milwaukee slip joint pliers also slip out of my pockets.

I bought these as I re-build and standardize car tool kits – I’m trying to take up as little space as possible while giving myself the most options for kits that go into a modern hybrid SUV, a late model full size SUV, and a 20 year old full size truck. Next I need to figure out which of the small size socket sets like that Icon set everyone was going nuts about makes sense to buy 3 of!

I EDC the 4″ Kobra XS pliers. I use them every day, most of the time multiple times a day. I think for the price difference I’ll stick with Knipex, but I do wish their 4″ version had the adjustment button on it.

I bought the Knipex small set in pouch (125/15) and use one or the other pretty regularly — kind of hard-pressed to imagine wanting something smaller (and I like the rubber handles).
I wish that this sort of mechanism was available in needle nose style — it would be very nice for removing supports from 3D prints.

I too like these small pliers. My introduction to diminutive pliers was a Proto 235 (5-inch long) that came with an ignition wrench set. The updated one now adds plastic-dipped handles:

Later I bought a Channellock 424G (4.5 inch long) – then a Knipex 87 01 125 (125mm long) and a smaller Knipex 87 00 100 (100mm long). I find that I use the 125mm cobras more than I would have thought.

I bought those Channellocks as my first mini pliers. They’re very small and low capacity. The Knipex Cobra XS feels like a much larger, more capable tool despite them being roughly equally easy to pocket carry. I still like the Channelocks though – they’re more like a scaled-down version of fullsize pliers instead of pliers designed to be mini.
