WorkPro Multi-Functional Wire Stripper with Titanium Coating

I came across this WorkPro multi-functional wiring tool, and must admit that it raised an eyebrow – although not in a bad way.

WorkPro says that this tool, which features pliers jaws, wire stripping holes, wire cutting blades, machine screw shear holes, and crimping jaws, is “titanium coated.”

I can’t see a functional purpose to this, but it sure does make the tool look prettier, with blue, green, and purple hues.

I wonder, would the “titanium coating” help the tool stand out in a cluttered tool box, or maybe if your tools are spread out on the floor?

They have a plain-finish version too.

I’m not sure I would pay more for a colorful tool finish, but in this case you don’t have to.

At the time of this posting, Amazon has the Workpro electrical tool for $10.39, the same as for their “silver coating” model.

Price: $10.39

To me it just makes the etchings harder to read. If I want a tool to stand out there’s always spray-paint.

Not a fan of these rainbow finishes on tools and knives. Only good thing is the tool won’t rust instantly, like most of these that I’ve had with black oxide finish.

I don’t care for this finish either. It’s garish. I think it might be today’s version of the gold Titanium Nitride craze that happened more than a decade ago. I’ve started seeing a similar looking blue coating on certain router bits, drill bits, etc.

I like it. I hope Klein starts doing these for special editions. I would pick up a kirve like this.

What’s with the photo showing a wood screw in the 8-32 bolt cutter hole?
If the manufacturer doesn’t know how it works, then why buy it?

Yep, it has a pointed/tapered tip, for piercing into wood. You’ll see this in another of their product images on Amazon.

The threaded holes in the tool are for cutting/shearing machine screws. The images are wrong to show it with screws not typically used in electrical work; I’m convinced it’s a mistake that they should have caught. Could be an AI oversight.

The screw in the first image might be a thread forming machine screw. Some of those are pointy so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt there.

The image in your comment appears to show a minature lag bolt. Definite AI/stoopid human there.
