Bosch 18V DDB181 Drill Driver

The Bosch DDB181, one of the best cordless drills for under $100, is on sale again, this time for less than $100 – it’s currently ~$92 for the 2-battery kit.

I have posted about the Bosch DDB181 18V cordless drill before, and it has regularly been my top budget drill pick.

When it was released, Bosch touted the DDB181’s compact size and light weight, and it truly is as compact and light as they say. It is closer in size to many 12V-class cordless drills than 18V models.

Its 350 in-lbs torque rating won’t win it any awards in the power or performance department, and it tops off at 1300 RPM.

But its build quality feels top-notch, which is surprising for a drill that was probably designed to sell around the $100 and compete with other brands’ popular holiday season offerings.

Right now the kit is on sale for $92, with free shipping, which is a heck of a good buy.

I’ve had this in my wishlist for quite a while but haven’t been able to justify it. Because it comes with 2 batteries I was searching Amazon for a bare impact driver and stumbled upon this combo for $150

“Bosch CLPK26-181 18-Volt 2-Tool Combo Kit with 1/2-Inch Drill/Driver, 1/4-Inch Impact Driver, 2 Batteries, Charger and Contractor Bag”

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N8I29O6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_VmnrxbCNGZH2E

A quick price check shows this is the lowest price this combo has been. Is this an older version they are trying to clear out?
