Dewalt DWS780 Sliding Miter Saw Deal Alert

Amazon once again has a great discount on the Dewalt DWS780 12″ sliding miter, which is the best model in their AC-powered lineup.

The DWS780 is a fantastic miter saw with huge cutting capacity – up to 2×14 dimensional lumber at 90° – and their excellent Cutline LED shadow line blade positioning system.

Dewalt DWS780 12-inch Sliding Miter Saw

I tested this saw a while back, and many of Dewalt’s other corded miter saws as well. It delivered a trouble-free experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one – especially at a discounted price – if I were in the market for a 12″ sliding miter saw.

The saw was priced at $599 for a long time before climbing to $649.

At the time of this posting, Amazon has it on sale at $499 for a limited time, which they say reflects a 25% discount from the list price of $669.

Especially given the price increases we’ve seen across the industry, and that even the budget model DWS779 miter saw is $449 at Amazon and Home Depot and even higher at some other places, $499 for the DWS780 is an excellent price.

If you’re unsure, there are always miter saw deals for Black Friday across a range of brands. It has been difficult to predict this year’s deals, but there are bound to be some more promos.

Buy it at Amazon

It looks like some other Dewalt tool dealers are matching Amazon’s price, but not all of them.

Price Check: Acme Tools | Home Depot | Lowe’s

Acme has it with the rolling stand for $649 with 10% off that, so about $585.

Nice deal if you also need the stand.

Thanks! Been waiting for a deal like this so I just ordered. Acme definitely with better deals than amazon for this saw alone too at $450.

Or if you want just the saw it’s 499 -10%. So acme is cheaper than Amazon assuming free shipping

In June 2019 I bought this for $454.09 from Amazon and can say it has been a wonderful miter saw. I still don’t feel the need for a festool because of the accuracy I get from the shadow line of the light. It was worth the buy for sure.

I realized I bought one in 2018 after clicking the link. That was an amazing deal at $372 with rolling stand.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on sale. The focus is typically on the DWS779 or smaller 10″ and 12″ non-sliding saws at lower price points.

You can search through ToolGuyd’s archive for examples of what to expect.

Then again, Home Depot is reporting over 2800 in stock online and a bunch at my local store, while the DWS779 looks to only be available for online orders. A lot of brands made sourcing changes and promotional changes because of the tariffs.

I don’t think there’s huge potential for the pricing to get better, but there’s also plenty of inventory, reducing the chances it’ll sell out or end soon.
