Amazon Deal of the Day: Etekcity IR Thermometers for Even Cheaper (11/2/15)

Etekcity Lasergrip 774 IR Infrared Thermometer

Over at Amazon, their Deal of the Day for today, 11/2/2015, features 3 discounted Etekcity IR thermometers.

We talked about IR thermometers a little bit the other day (why spend more for certain brand name tools), and I also recently reviewed Milwaukee’s 2267 IR thermometer. Infrared thermometers are non-contact means of measuring temperature, and for some users an inexpensive model will handle all their needs just fine.

The 3 discounted models include the Etekcity Lasergrip 774 (on sale for $10.99), Etekcity Lasergrip 1080 (on sale for $9.66), and Etekcity Lasergrip 630 with dual lasers (on sale for $23.99), in order of less expensive to most featured.

The Lasergrip 774 and Lasergrip 1080 are similar, with the latter being capable of measuring a wider range of temperatures: -58°F to 716°F compared to -58°F to 1022°F. The Lasergrip 630 can measure and even wider range, -58°F to 1076°F, and also features adjustable emissivity, a better distance to spot ratio, dual laser indicators, and min/max/avg measurement modes which can be useful.

I know nothing about Etekcity, but their budget priced test & measurement tools seem to consistently receive positive user reviews.

Deal ends at 3am ET 11/3/2015, unless supplies run out sooner.

I bought one of these last winter. The adjustable emissivity feature is actually pretty useful. Some thermometers have a fixed setting of 0.95 which is fine for lots of materials but won’t yield accurate results for metals, especially polished metals.
