Milwaukee Tool sent over an email that they’ve launched a new M18 Fuel cordless power tool combo kit, 3799-22.
Cutting to the chase, this combo kit features the M18 Fuel brushless hammer drill and also the new Gen2 SURGE quiet impact driver!

At first glance the kit looks like the same one that has been on the market for a few years now, but it’s not. They swapped in the SURGE oil impact driver, which operates much quieter than typical impacts.

The kit comes with 2x XC 5Ah batteries, a charger, and carrying case.
Here’s a summary of both tools’ major selling points:
M18 Fuel Hammer Drill (2904) – 6.9″ length, Auto-Stop control mode (anti-kickback), up to 1400 in-lbs max torque, 0-2100 RPM range, Milwaukee’s most powerful cordless hammer drill.
M18 Fuel SURGE Gen2 Oil Impact Driver (2761) – Fluid-Drive hydraulic powertrain for quieter operation and less vibration than standard impact drivers, up to 3X application speed compared to the previous generation, 3200 RPM max speed, 4.33″ length.
Both tools feature brushless motors.
Price: $429

I know many of you asked for this. Hopefully it’s a trend that will continue whenever Milwaukee next updates their M18 Fuel hammer drill.
It looks like users also still have the choice between getting this combo kit, with the Gen 2 SURGE, or the standard hammer drill and impact driver combo kit.

Dewalt should do the same with their own hydraulic impact driver.

Right? I own the Dewalt version of these. If I were to replace, I’m torn by M12 smaller drivers, M18 fuel model Hammerdrill (I have M18 platform and M12) but also Dewalt 20V and Atomics. Once my old-reliable 1/2″ Dewalt hammerdrill gives up the ghost (which has the wonderful Jacobs metal chuck and not rinkydink plastic chuck), going to be a test to replace with ??? based on price or newer batteries or Toolguy deal!
