We have heard from major tool brands about all of the new tools and technologies they are announcing and showing off at the World of Concrete 2026 event.
While the focus is on tools for masonry work, WOC also serves as a general preview of what’s coming next for professional power tool brands.
This post is intended as a condensed preview post, and I will be discussing the major developments separately.

Bosch New Tool Announcements

Bosch has said that they will be launching “60 new products” across different categories.
This includes a new “Expert 18V platform” with new batteries.

They are also launching several cordless outdoor power tools.

Bosch will also be providing some details about their Contractor tool box system.
Bosch has provided images and fact sheets for some of their launches and said that more information will be available at a later time.
Here’s a summary of what I’m seeing so far:
- Bosch L-Boxx Contractor Tool Boxes – “3-Stack” combo with lidded tool boxes
- 18V Expert Batteries in 4 sizes – see our earlier discussion here
- Outdoor power tools (blower, trimmers, chain saws)
- Grinders – 10 models

- 18V tripod-base telescoping LED worklight

Hilti New Tool Announcements

Hilti has said that they will be highlighting many of the new tools and products their influencer partners explored at a hands-on launch event 3 months ago, but that there are no further announcements, innovations, or tools.
Hilti was unable to answer any of our questions about the new ProKit drawer tool boxes or 22V Nuron battery products, but provided reassurance that some information will be shared with us and other media in a couple of weeks.
Johnson Level

Johnson Level has a new level on the way. Full details were not yet available, but they’ll be keeping us in the loop.
Flex Tools

Flex’s 24V Max cordless power tool system seems to have been ejected from Lowe’s stores nationwide, and they seem to have lost their entire USA marketing and PR team.
A savvy Redditor found a online promo page showing off a new Flex 24V Max cordless 9″ cut-off saw that will be launching (somewhere?) later this year.
If you have questions, maybe Flex customer service can help.
Questions? Did I Miss Anything?
Milwaukee, Bosch, and Makita seem to have the most new tools and innovations, although the launch ETAs are spread out a bit. Dewalt “only” announced 4 new products, but that doesn’t mean it’s all they’re coming out with this year.
Did I miss anything?
Do you have any questions?
I have a lot more info that will be going into upcoming posts, and most pro tool brands are willing to answer reasonable questions – stay tuned for more.

That cart for the Makita GEC01 saw may get on this year’s Xmas shopping list. But I’ll need to sound out the saw’s recipient to see if a $1900 cart for pavement cutting would add enough value for him to justify the price.

Well I learned at least one new thing today, and that’s what a duplex nailer is. I imagine that many of you using this site already know, but for me and others alike, who are not in the trades, a duplex nail gun drives nails that have two heads. But unlike Orthus, the two headed dog of Greek mythology, the heads aren’t side by side, rather they are one on top of the other in a stacked fashion, separated by a fraction of an inch. This type of double headed nail is used to assemble temporary forms or structures so that the upper most nail head remains proud, thus providing an easily accessible point of leverage and removal of these nails.
My apologies to those who have probably known about these since childhood, but I found it all new and interesting.

The last one that I bought was in 2023 – a Metabo-Hpt version – model #NR3675DD. Back then – I also looked at a Nailpro (Jaaco) pneumatic that sold for about the same price but had a bump-fire trigger. I have not heard any complaints about it.

BTW – you can also buy duplex nails in various sizes for hand driving:

They have been around for as long as I can remember – and apparently were first patented in 1917.

DeWalt has some crazy fleet drilling robots there, too. They are 100% not for the average consumer, marketed towards commercial data center construction and drilling for server racks supports or something.
Ben
That’s interesting. More info / PR announcement: https://dewalt.mediaroom.com/2026-01-20-DEWALT-R-Unveils-the-Worlds-First-Downward-Drilling,-Fleet-Capable-Robot-to-Accelerate-Data-Center-Construction

AI robots are building data centers now.
Yay.
Wayne R.
Geez, the quantity of drilling in a place like that would be mind-numbing, even with robots.

Makita motor unit was surprising to stumble across on Instagram…

Stuart
Thanks – I did NOT see that yet.
A while back, Makita announced they would be discontinuing gas engine motors, and a 3rd party company got in touch with me, concerned about how this would impact their business and contracts.
A drop-in battery-powered motor is surprising, but that experience clued me in to the existence of a world of 3rd party products and potential products I didn’t know was out there. I’ve seen other brands’ gas engine motors in various products, but didn’t realize there were Makita gas engine motors used in similar ways.
“Designed with seamless OEM integration in mind” makes a lot of sense.

World of Concrete happening the same time as SHOT SHOW always makes fun conversation at circle bar and steakhouses.
Stuart
I realized that last night too. Separately neither would have convinced me to travel in winter. Together? I might have went.
Matthew
Circle Bar is always a great hang out after SHOT. Vegas is the perfect place for these trade shows.
Chris
Stuart, are you concerned by the lack of flexvolt tools here? I know dewalt is trying to push their powershift technology, but o also feel like it’s been a while since we’ve seen any new Flexvolt tools.
