Noticing a few new Ryobi Tek4 cordless Li-ion tools on Home Depot’s website has got me thinking about the entire product line and what to make of it. There’s little buzz about these tools making me wonder if anyone’s buying them, and if no, why not?

Ryobi has just released a brand new 5pc combo kit as part of their Tek4 power tool system. Included in the combo are two new and three familiar tools – a cordless screwdriver, power snips, smart noise-suppression protective headphones, an LED flashlight, and a mobile device charger.

Ryobi designed their Tek4 cordless electronic tools around a nifty (and affordable) 4V lithium-ion rechargeable battery system. Ryobi’s main selling point is that use of this system will save on costs and waste compared to using traditional AA-based tools.
