Deal: Dewalt 10″ Table Saw for $274

Ryan wrote in with a tip that the Dewalt DW745 table saw dropped in price on Amazon and was going for $274, or about $250 at checkout, after $25 off $100+ holiday promo discount.

I’m seeing a price of $299, and since the saw is eligible for the holiday promo, the final price is $274, plus tax.

When I wrote up the table saw deal post 2 weeks ago, I checked Amazon and they didn’t have any in stock. Now they do, and $274 is a great deal for what you get. $249 or $250 would have been better, but the price Ryan saw must have been part of a very temporary reduction.

Maybe the price will drop back down to $274 before discount, possible not, but I’ll keep an eye open for it.

While it’s tempting to look towards the latest and greatest saws, this model has earned a very solid reputation over the years, and it has been updated a couple of times. The blade guard and safety accessories were redesigned several years ago, and it looks like the rip capacity was increased in 2012.

In his email, Ryan also asked whether I thought the DW745 was a better buy than the Ridgid R45161, which is currently on sale for $199. I haven’t seen that Ridgid saw in action, and so I can’t say which is better, but of the two I would favor the Dewalt.
