Over at Amazon, they have the new Dewalt DWS716XPS 12″ dual bevel miter saw on sale. As we posted about a couple of months ago, this is an updated version of the well-regarded DW716 miter saw.
This saw has been on my wishlist for a while, as I’ve been in the market for a non-sliding 12″ miter saw.

Here’s why I personally have the DWS716XPS on my wishlist and am strongly considering buying it right now:
- Smaller footprint than a sliding miter saw, and less things to go wrong or affect accuracy
- Dual bevel isn’t always necessary, but comes in handy
- XPS LED cutline indicator is an AWESOME feature
- I’ve been long-impressed with Dewalt miter saw quality

That’s a great price.
I got the 715, for a lot of the same reasons you enumerate above. However, the shadow cut line system would be really nice to have.
The Rigid rolling miter saw stand has been a great addition.

The DWS780 is on sale for for the same price as the 779 – $349 at Amazon and Home Depot ($325 after $25 off $100 Dewalt promo at Amazon)

I think you mentioned the “flip-out crown stops” in another post on this saw also, but this saw does not have flip out crown stops.

It looks like this is also 279 out of Lowes right now and if I read it right – 299 with the dewalt folding stand at Home Depot.
